Connecticut State Capitol


Declared as a national historical landmark by the UN Department of Interior in 1972, the Connecticut State Capitol first opened for the General Assembly in January 1879. The capitol was designed by noted architect Richard M Upjohn. It is made of New England marble and granite and crowned by a gold leaf.

Massachusetts State Capitol

Can you believe that the land for the State House was originally a cow pasture? This was many years ago. Today, the State House is one of Boston's famous attractions and the oldest building on Beacon Hill. Designed by Charles Bulfinch, the State House was completed on January 11, 1798. The golden dome is made of copper by Paul Revere to prevent leaks.
